Our Team
The Kindness Collective was started by a group of like minded educators. Each with our own unique experiences and skills we collaborate with the common goal of creating the most engaging, encouraging and positive school experience for your kiddos’ early years.
Who We Are
Nancy has worked as an early childhood educator for over 20 years. She has trained in Adlerian Philosophy and specializes in applying these principles with children in the classroom and family context specifically. Over her career she has trained countless educators in teaching methodologies guided by the Adlerian Philosophy to ensure that every child experiences learning from a safe, secure, connected, and empowered position. Nancy believes that learning best happens in a classroom environment where students feel respected and secure in their relationships in order to explore new behaviours, knowledges, and connections. Exploration is after all, profoundly vulnerable! Year after year, Nancy has built classrooms full of smiles, humour, joy, and so much learning! Additionally, Nancy prioritizes parent communication as one of the most important aspects in creating this environment, and has the experience and training to provide parents with supportive resources and strategies to aid in their children’s development. She has been the driving force behind The Kindness Collective’s focus on open communication and collaboration and we are so excited to have her as part of the team!
Krysten is a registered Early Childhood Educator, holds Bachelor degrees in both Psychology and Education and has 15 years of classroom experience. Her studies in education stem from the belief that given the right opportunities, every child can find joy in the learning process, and thrive. She provides expertise in individual, customized curriculums and inventive learning strategies geared towards each child’s specific needs and interests. She takes incredible care in getting to know each one of her students! Krysten’s knowledge base makes her amazingly skilled at incorporating academic learning into every activity, providing her students with ongoingly engaging opportunities for growth, discovery, and exploration. No two days are alike! She approaches student, co-worker, and parent relationships with care, compassion, and a remarkable sense of humour, and always makes learning fun!
Lauren has been an educator for over a decade and has extensive training and experience in the application of Adlerian Philosophy in the classroom context. By employing these principles, she fosters classroom connections so that each student becomes an important member of the class and the school community more broadly, while celebrating the strengths and contributions of each individual student. She feels that the support and inclusivity of this environment provides the best context for children to explore, discover, and learn. Lauren prioritizes intrinsic motivation as a driving force for learning, and therefore uses strategies such as play-based learning, student guided curriculums, and individualized programming in her teaching. Her students feel an incredible sense of ownership and pride in their classroom! Additionally, the degree in Fine Arts that she holds, allows her to bring a uniquely creative approach to her classroom, teaching from a hands-on, experiential curriculum. Lauren’s class is never short on laughter, jokes, compassion, and mess! We recommend a smock!
